The free vault stores your encrypted files locally. The managed vault stores them on our UK infrastructure with an uptime SLA, full audit trail, and compliance documentation. Same client-side encryption. Migration to multi-region cloud hosting (named hyperscaler, replicated across regions) is on the roadmap; the launch posture is a single dedicated UK host.

Client-side encryption
Same as the free vault. Files are encrypted in your browser before upload. We store ciphertext. We never see your data. By design, not by promise.
UK data residency
Managed-vault payloads are stored on a dedicated UK host and never leave the UK. Multi-region replication is on the roadmap; see Privacy Policy §8.
Audit trail
Every access, retrieval, and modification is logged with timestamps and IP addresses. Full history available via API. Exportable for compliance reporting.

Common questions.
Can I migrate from the free vault?
Yes. Export your items from the free vault and re-upload to managed. Same encryption, same format. We help with migration for Pro and Enterprise customers.
What happens if I cancel?
You get 30 days to export your data. After that, encrypted data is deleted from managed-vault storage. We can't read it anyway, but we delete it regardless.
Do you have compliance certifications?
Enterprise plan includes SOC 2 Type II controls documentation; an independent third-party audit is on the roadmap (firm and scope announced once engaged, results published when complete). ISO 27001 controls are mapped to Annex A; certification is on the roadmap. We hold Cyber Essentials certification today (IASME, May 2026). For specific compliance requirements, contact us and we'll scope what you need.
Can I choose specific regions?
At launch, managed-vault payloads are stored on a single dedicated UK host. Multi-region replication for Pro and Enterprise customers is on the roadmap; when that ships, we will re-disclose the sub-processors involved and the transfer mechanism in Privacy Policy §8. Until then, no managed-vault payload leaves the UK.
